At ERC we unveiled a new Python2-based software module that offers multiprocessing and multithreading. It originally ran on a Raspberry Pi. It is fairly extensible but has a few critical bugs that need to be fixed over the course of the year. The team will try and use GitHub's features to track the development better to squash all of our problems.
However, Python2 is starting to get pretty dated and the team may want to consider upgrading all of our code to Python3! It could be a lot of work but possibly a worthy way to move forward. Please see the wiki page on Rover Software for more information.
The team has worked with various GUI toolkits in the past, all with varying levels of success. Please see the rover-webui page for more information!
