HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is the standard markup language for creating Web pages. It defines the structure and content of web content. HTML allows you to create headings, paragraphs, links, images, forms, and other elements that make up a web page. Browsers read HTML documents and display them correctly.

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <title>My Web Page</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <h1>Welcome to My Website</h1>
    <p>This is a paragraph of text.</p>
    <a href="https://www.example.com">Visit Example.com</a>
  </body>
</html>

In this example:

  • The <!DOCTYPE html> declaration specifies that this document is an HTML5 document.
  • The <html> element is the root element of the page.
  • The <head> section contains meta information (like the page title).
  • The <body> section contains visible content (headings, paragraphs, links).
