Upgrade to 4.3 removes all settings

I am running ytdml in docker via docker-compose. Currently have 4.2 running with mongodb. Tried doing docker-compose down && docker-compose pull && docker-compose up -d and it updates but all settings are wiped restoring it all to default. I can downgrade to 4.2 again by specifying 4.2 in the docker-compose.yml and everything is still there. What am I doing wrong?

As an update on this, even though I set the admin password it prompts for a new password like it has not been set after a couple of days. At this point I rolled back to 4.2 and tried the upgrade through the gui. I get this error:

So at this point, neither a pull nor gui upgrade works. I am about to test this on a fresh install just to see if it works.
