mmpu commit command returns zero on error

I executed this series of commands:

mmpu create ~~/stor/tmp/1501618156
mmpu upload 51ed3af2-f6dc-ebc3-a0e2-8282888513ed 0
mmpu upload 51ed3af2-f6dc-ebc3-a0e2-8282888513ed 1
mmpu commit 51ed3af2-f6dc-ebc3-a0e2-8282888513ed 19744035-c139-6863-d80b-c0e7ae5aea5a b4c9f1a3-0bee-cd43-eacb-967d320a2a0c

The last command printed:

error: /cburroughs/stor/tmp/1501618156 was being concurrently updated

to stderr but the exit code was 0.

I have also observed the same behavior with the stderr text:

error: jsonClient POST: {"NoApiServersAvailable": "Manta is unavailable to serve requests at this time"}
