Work area is not rendered

When the app starts, all works as supposed, I can browse my projects and open them. But the work area is never rendered, showing only the start logo (see image below).

Oh I just fixed this by switching the renderer from OpenGL to DirectX 9

I changed the renderer and mine broke.

this has ended in crashing during boot up also.
