As a Developer
I want to upgrade our Cantaloupe image server to the latest version, 5.0.6
So that we can leverage the latest bug fixes from upstream, improve stability, and potentially resolve the errors currently occurring in our instance.

Acceptance Criteria:
Upgrade to Cantaloupe 5.0.6:

  1. Perform the upgrade of our Cantaloupe instance to version 5.0.6.
  2. Review and follow the official Cantaloupe upgrade guide to ensure all necessary steps are completed during the upgrade process.
  3. Ensure that all configurations (including any custom settings) are compatible with version 5.0.6.

Test Current Issues for Resolution:

  1. After the upgrade, run a series of tests targeting the issues/errors we've been experiencing in our environment.
  2. Validate whether the upgrade resolves these problems, such as:
  • Image rendering errors
  • Performance slowdowns
  • Stability issues with certain image formats or large-scale workloads

Post-Upgrade Validation:

  1. Verify the functionality of all critical features after the upgrade, including:
  • Image format support (JPEG, PNG, TIFF, etc.)
  • Cache management
  • Performance in production and staging environments
  1. Conduct a comparison of performance metrics before and after the upgrade to ensure there are no regressions.
