Is it just me or is the "Include Pokémon from later generations" whitelisting option not working properly? #23
Comments
You've probably opted not to randomize wild Pokémon, which means that the original Pokémon will appear in the wild. |
Ohh, ohkay. I thought that disabling Gen. 1 and 2 actually removed the Pokémon belonging to them from the ROM or something. Thanks for clarifying that @Sanqui 👍 Now, I made a new ROM, I unchecked Gen. 1 and 2 Pokémon again, I only had the Generations 3, 4, 5 and 6 checked, and I also randomized the wild Pokémon. |
Both Pidgey and Bellsprout are 3-stage lines. :) By the way, you chose not to randomize trainer Pokémon. I fully intend on replacing all this ton of options with something more straightforward, but it'll take a bit of time still. |
It is possible to build a ROM like that, and these settings should work for it! Just, if you ask the randomizer to keep some sort of pokémon, it forces the original 151 in. Sorry, I know it's sorta unintuitive, I'll be changing it. You're welcome! I'm still intend on improving the randomizer if I find some free time. |
I checked the Generations 3, 4, 5 and 6 checkboxes while disabling/unchecking the Generations 1 and 2 checkboxes. Then I proceeded to generate a ROM and I had the 3 Kanto Starters to choose.
At the same time, the Routes 1 & 22 had nothing but the usual Kantoian Pokémon (Rattata, Pidgey, Spearow, etc).
I don't really know if it's an issue or if I'm simply misunderstanding how the function in the website works but one thing I'm sure of, is that Seedot (a 3rd Gen. Pokémon) or his sprite at the very least is implemented inside the ROM as it appeared during Oak's Introduction.
I don't know if it's required or if it'd be helpful, but here's a .ips patch of said ROM.

Also, a pic of that Seedot in the introduction:
