Occasionally, when you open the app and tap on the Settings (gear) button, the user profile/name is not displayed.

A solution may be to make the app show the login page every time the user's credentials are not valid (or null), OR make them always login when they open the app. The second option may be suboptimal for UX.

after a certain amount of time, credentials expire. Could this be the issue?

probably not. but seems trivial for now
