Sometimes it's not easy to scroll down till the next file or chunk.
Navigation buttons should help there.

Something like next\prev at the right of a file header or "hotlinking" of the
"modified paths" section would be useful.

I was thinking more of a buttons on a toolbar since it is already there but 
your idea
is really good actually, I might do exactly like that :)
