Team Structure & Leadership

To improve the ability of the project to actually get things done, I think we need some more formal leadership roles, with people committed to them. The people can change, but there should always be someone actively working in each of these roles.

Note: most of these are empty now because elections haven't happened. Please apply if interested.

Position Descriptions:

Board:

These are trusted members of the community who have shown through their contributions and experience their ability to make sound decisions for the project's direction. They jointly determine the project's vision and overall direction, taking in input from the larger community.

Project Maintainer:

Final say on project direction in case board is split. Has admin level access to the Discord, GitHub and Reddit communities.

UI Lead:

The UI Lead is in charge of design aspects of the project, including the user interface design and frontend development. They require both design and technical knowledge. The UI Lead attempts to construct a UI inline with the direction provided by the board.

Frontend Lead:

The frontend lead is responsible for managing application development to meet the design specified by the UX/UI team. This involves using frontend programming libraries, deployment of application on play/app store, and delegation of related tasks.

Backend Lead:

The Backend Lead is in charge of the business logic of the application, and backend development. This involves decisions regarding server implementation, databases, and orchestration.

Community Lead:

The community lead is responsible for maintaining project socials. This includes engaging in the Discord community to facilitate discussions, moderating Reddit, and filtering ideas to the board from community discussion posts. This also includes taking on new ventures such as expansion to new social medias, and advertising the project to a broader community.
