User Onboarding Process

What is this and what does it do?

When the user first accesses the app, they will be asked to create an account. Guides the user through the account creation process.

How does this work?

User will have to read the community rules, undergo a verification process to ensure that they can only create one account, and get login details.

What is this trying to accomplish?

• Provide information to the end user about what the app is
• Should be able to provide information of someone unfamiliar with what dating apps are
• This is the first security checkpoint that everyone has to pass to enter the app
• Block as many accounts that don't pass the terms and conditions/rules.
• Enforce the 1 account rule as best as possible

What should this focus on?

• As easy as possible for users to understand and interact with.

Welcome and Registration

• Users are greeted with a warm welcome screen that introduces the app's core concept and benefits.
• They have the option to either log in or create a new account.
• For new users, the app encourages them to create an account to access its features.

Account Creation

• New users are guided through the account creation process.
• They enter their phone number, which serves as their primary method for logging in. The app may request permission to access the phone number to streamline this step.
• The process is designed to be efficient and user-friendly.

Identity Verification

• After creating an account, the app may prompt users to verify their identity to ensure they are real individuals and not spambots.
• Various verification methods may be offered, such as facial scan, identification, or fingerprint, allowing users to choose their preferred method.
• The app may provide a layered verification approach, allowing users to enhance their trustworthiness over time.

New User Verification

• Users who are new to the app will be identified and may have a small form of verification. This information is visible to other community members.

Terms and Conditions Review

• Before users can proceed further, they are presented with the app's terms and conditions.
• Alongside the detailed terms, there is a concise summary highlighting key points and community standards.
• Users must agree to abide by the community standards to continue.

Profile Creation

• Once users agree to the terms and conditions, they are guided through the process of creating their dating profiles.
• The profile setup is intuitive and includes key elements such as a full-body picture, headshot, and personal interests. These are suggested but not mandatory, allowing for user customization.

User Onboarding Tour

• After completing their profiles, users are introduced to an onboarding tour. This tour provides a step-by-step guide to using the app's main features.
• Users learn how to navigate the app, understand the rules of interaction, report issues, and access swift enforcement policies.

App Usage

• Users can now start using the app, having been introduced to its features, rules, and expectations.
• The onboarding process sets a positive tone for their experience and ensures they are well-prepared for interacting within the app's community.
