As we move toward launching our own cloud services, such as our own BinderHub and/or JupyterHub, we should discuss how best to containerize our content. Containerization can significantly improve launch time (i.e., it removes the need for repo2docker) on Binder. However, to encourage the use of containerization of our content, we need to discuss how these images will be structured and what they will contain. How many images do we need? Should we provide a base image that other people can customize? etc.
