Problem Statement

I have a few suggestions of which I'm not sure if they are made before. On my slow connection it's hard to browse through all the older suggestions. Please ignore them if they are duplicates, or if I just didn't find the right setting for them yet.

I found your app recsntly and I'm already loving it better than all other weather apps I've used. A few things would make it even better, at least for me.

  1. Can you make it possible to add a location using its geographic coordinates?
  2. Please make the names of a saved location editable. Now one of my saved locations is named after the house number I entered. I would like to edit that to something like Granny's Home.
  3. I don't know how to save a current location. If I want to save a location I have to look it up by address, while I am already there.
  4. Enable separate weather providers for each of the saved locations. My saved locations are spread over the world, and I would like to use a local weather provider for each of them.
  5. One thing that has been asked for already I think, is to load weather data in the background, so that one doesn't have to wait until the data is loaded after opening the app. Remember I have a slow connection, so that always takes a while.

Thank you for a great app!

@heinhuiz Upon installation, the application automatically requests permission to access the device's location information.

Can you make it possible to add a location using its geographic coordinates?

You can already search for locations using latitude and longitude. If you can't find your location, consider switching to a different search provider or providing more detailed input.

Please make the names of a saved location editable. Now one of my saved locations is named after the house number I entered. I would like to edit that to something like Granny's Home.

This might not be a high-priority feature since it could interfere with saved data that relies on location names. However, it’s worth considering.

I don't know how to save a current location. If I want to save a location I have to look it up by address, while I am already there.

This feature is already supported if you’ve granted location permissions.

Enable separate weather providers for each of the saved locations. My saved locations are spread over the world, and I would like to use a local weather provider for each of them.

This is planned for a future release but hasn’t been implemented yet. For now, you can use Open-Meteo, which supports models specific to individual locations.

@PranshulGG Thank you for your answer, but a few questions remain.

You can already search for locations using latitude and longitude.
Then how do I do that? I've tried typing the numbers both space and comma separated, but the search bar just keeps running without giving results. Note that I try to add locations without a name, like in the middle of a forest where I have projects running.

This feature is already supported if you’ve granted location permissions.
And this? I have granted location permissions obviously, because otherwise I wouldn't have a current location. I have tried pressing and long pressing the current location in the location overview to see if a popup menu would appear, but that didn't happen.

Every time you open the app, it automatically uses your current location, meaning it fetches your location each time.

I'll have to see this maybe

@PranshulGG What I mean is, if I want to add the location where I am now to the list of saved locations for future reference when I am somewhere else again, it would be good to have a way to simply add it using a long press, instead of having to search for it.
That will also help with the other point with the unnamed locations, if I'm at that project in the forest and I can just save that current location, I would not need to look it up using coordinates.
