Hi there,
I found this same problem in some Italian lines used only for historical trains/ tourist trains. It would be really nice to see those lines on the map. These railways usually have a particular geometry of the tracks and should be shown, in my opinion. Even in black, as if there were no use tags, as they are not really important, but people should still be able to see them
In the draft you recently showed in the mailing list, the tag railway = preserved seems to be missing at all:
