All input data needs to have the version information in the file name #27
Comments
After the reorganisation of the BLOM input data (NorESMhub/BLOM#21), the input files now have version information in the file names (creation date: YYYYMMDD). |
I will check if everything is coherent for NorESM specific atmosphere files. Not the case for Aerotab now : do not have date in now. Should be changed. How to name input-name coherently : follow CESM method cYYYYMMDD. Should we use nYYYYMMDD? How can we make clear that a file was generated by/for NorESM? |
Add description of file naming: NorESMhub#27
I have included a suggestion for file naming ($FILENAME_ nYYYYMMDD) template under the For developers section in the noresm documentation in master |
The documentation has been updated: #265 @DirkOlivie can we close this now? |
For NorESM specific input files there are two type of files without timestamp in CAM-Nor :
|
I suggest that any updates of the AeroTab files and volcanic forcing files should have a timestamp. Creating timestamps for existing files opens for bugs in the cmip6 version. |
We need to agree on a input data file naming scheme. The easiest is to put version information in the file name just as CESM is doing it.
additional info from Dirk:
Some NorESM data (in this case the directory) have a version date in their directory name :
Location : inputdata/noresm-only/atm/cam/camoslo/AeroTab_8jun17 :
Filenames : aerocomk0.out, aerocomk1.out, aerocomk2.out, aerocomk3.out, ...
