You seem to be able to have empty inscriptions currently, that is, incriptions that contain nothing at all (not even empty space) that still count as inscriptions, by simply going to inscribe an object and not doing any input other than Enter/Return.
This doesn't seem to break anything in an obvious fashion, but it feels wrong and also like it might be breaking something/able to break something in a non-obvious way somehow.
