There will also be 5 runner-up 60,000 SC and 2000HNS prizes each.

On top of all that, all entrants who produce a substantially interesting Skynet and Handshake application or upgrade will win a consolation prize of 7500 SC and 250 HNS each.

Challenge Description

Build an application that focuses on enhancing both Skynet and Handshake as its fundamental purpose. This application should add a useful feature or functionality to the Skynet and Handshake ecosystems, making it easy or possible to do something that was previously not easy or possible to do.

Taking an existing open-source Skynet or Handshake application and extending it to support new functionality or otherwise significantly improving the user experience is not only welcome but encouraged.

Submission Requirements

• The project must be open source
• Skynet and handshake must be a fundamental element of the application.
• The app must do something that is useful and interesting.
• Demo videos are strongly recommended for complete submissions (upload your videos to Skynet!)

Note: To obtain a HNS domain, you must have a Namebase account. If you did not register with the same e-mail you used to register for the hackathon, please message Johnny Wu.

Example apps and ideas:

• Skynet Paste Bin
• Apps similar to those in the Skynet App Store
• An application whose backend is built on Skynet but lives on the Handshake blockchain, which is all made accessible through a Handshake name
• A platform for users to help each other build on Skynet and Handshake.

Submission Deadline

Judging Criteria

Submissions will be judged on the following:

• How applicable the project is and how likely it is to be used by others
• Potential positive impact on the Skynet and Handshake ecosystems
• Works on mainnet
• Greater appeal to a wider audience

How involved or difficult the application is will not be considered. If a very useful and interesting app can be created with very little effort, this app will still qualify for the grand prize and all other prizes.
