<br><br><center>How to fold a traditional origami crane</center>
</h3>
</div><br><br>
<p class="pp">
Of all the origami models, the traditional paper origami crane is probably the most well-known. It's modelled after the red-crowned crane of Japan. This crane is regarded as the "Honourable Lord Crane" in Japanese mythology, and its wings are said to have carried souls to paradise.
<br><br>
This form is known in Japan as "Orizuru," which translates to "folded crane." The "Ori" in origami is the same "Ori" as in origami.
<br><br>
According to an ancient Japanese mythology, anyone who folds a thousand paper cranes will be given a desire by the gods. In the same instances, you will be blessed with happiness or good fortune.
<br><br>
The crane is claimed to live for 1,000 years in Japan, which is why 1,000 of them must be folded. To get the desire, you must keep all of the cranes. It doesn't count if you fold one and give it away.
<br><br>
The popularity of the origami crane is largely attributable to author Eleanor Coerr's children's book "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes."
<br><br>
Sadako, a Japanese girl of two years old when the United States bombed Japan at the close of World War II, is the protagonist of the novel. Sadako acquired leukaemia as a result of the bombing.
<br><br>
She spent her time in the ICU folding origami cranes with the hopes of making 1,000 of them.
<br><br>
Sadako's family estimates that she folded around 1,400 paper cranes. As a sign of peace, many of these cranes have been presented to places including the 9-11 monument in New York City, Pearl Harbour, the Museum of Tolerance, and others.

<br>
Making an origami crane isn't difficult at all. A single square sheet of paper is all you'll need. We've put up some step-by-step instructions to show you how to fold one yourself.
<br><br>
If you've never attempted origami before, we recommend starting with our beginner's tutorial. This will be considerably easier if you've mastered the basic folds.
<br><br>
Are you prepared to fold your hands? Let's get this party started!
