Feature description

  • The horizontal scrolling is, for me anyways, so unnatural. Please enable a user option to scroll the library vertically.
  • The white on blurred text for the game titles and other UI buttons is difficult to read, and just looks like a large glowy/dreamy (but glary and eye-straining) Hue gradient balls of light with soap in my eyes as i'm scrolling. Perhaps layering a 80% dark flat or shadow on top or in place of blur will make Game Titles legible again - * I just realized there is blur ALSO behind every box. TOO MUCH BLUR! Pick ONE! 😅 and also lower the spread/distance - refining this will make it much more slick!
  • I appreciate the automatic resizing of the game art when resizing the window - but I suggest adding a user configurable slider (i.e. Plex web interface ) there can be more granular control/consistent sizing across any window size.
  • MBP M1P - the library while not a slideshow, is just slow to update graphic elements while scrolling, or choosing filter/display options
  • List view - depending on window size. there's times when I see only 6 titles in list view but 21 in grid? And I may be confusing list view and Plex's Table view, but I think it should be more compact, perhaps enable a column view.

I wanted to share how Plex's library works on their Web interface (I believe it's similar on iPad) just to offer some suggestion - their elements seem intuitive and similar to how I might experience comparable user-interactive elements across various softwares and the like. https://share.zight.com/ApuoOWLy

I'm a UI/UX guy and I understand "Alpha" my edible kicked in as I was just playing around and needed to vent - so apologies 🙃 but I hope some of it was helpful 😅

Before submitting

thanks for venting lol

  • will add a vertical scrolling option to grid view 👍🏾
  • will add a slider to change grid element size
  • will marginally reduce background glow of game cards
  • unsure about user-configurable slider placement, may work something out
  • library slowness is a known issue with no known workaround currently (but we're twinning with macbooks!!)
  • list vs grid wasn't really intended for compactness over the other -- it might end up being useful implementing three levels of UI similar to Gmail's Compact/Cozy/Comfortable setting.

been busy at the moment though, so this issue won't be fixed immediately
