hello all, I could really do with some help if anybody could spare the time...
yesterday I tried to move BTC from MultibitHD into a KeepKey hard wallet. I only did part balance first to try and get used to the software/hardware. But the transaction failed. I got an error message from multibit saying that the BTC involved were already part of a transaction. it then went on to say 'waiting for feedback about this transaction from the bitcoin network'.
The transaction cannot be found on blockchain.info, so it wasn't properly sent to the network. yet myBTC are shown as 'unconfirmed' at the top of the multibit dashboard. the balance of BTC in the wallet are also inaccessible because they are in the same bitcoin address and so are caught up in whatever glitch I have managed to create.
unfortunately, I didn't realise how useful it would be to access the transaction raw data (per this advice here: #805 ) so I didn't copy it at the time it was available, and since then I've tried to restore older wallet versions all to no avail, and the transaction raw data now seems unavailable.
when I tried to restore backups, even from months ago, I get the same multibit dashboard message about the coins which remain unavailable and cant be moved. which seems to suggest the bitcoin network is expecting the transaction even if blcokchain.info cannot find any sign of it.
I don't know what to do, I have only slightly above average computer literacy and am currently assuming my BTC are lost. I'd happily reward someone who can advise how these can be successfully recovered?
