MultiSQL has little connection cost.
A case could be made that it would be better to have this executable function one command at a time. The state of the interface could be preserved in a file in the working directory or even in a common home location.

This would have numerous benefits as har as continuity goes.

I've already found it an annoyance multiple times to close out of the CLI.

The only needed state information would be databases.
