When the local operator is keying the code is decoded and displayed in the code window. Experienced operators either don't look at the code window at all, or aren't influenced by what is displayed.
However, less experienced (and especially beginning) operators can be distracted by and/or influenced to 'adjust' by watching the output while they are sending.
It would be helpful to have an option that disables decoded output of what the local operator is keying.
The code window should still display the station name, possibly followed by something that indicates code is being processed.
This could be the normal operation, but it would be preferred that it be configurable in the 'Preferences' dialog.

Actually, my concern is more for how the reader window can influence the sending of experienced operators. I'm less concerned with the effect it might have on beginners. In that case, the reader window is probably helpful.
This comment does not affect the essence of the proposed change, however.
