We wish to use the Hololens 2 for an upcoming project where we will be using Unreal Engine 4.26+ for the development.
We have a few concerns/queries regarding two of the features that are present in the “Supported Features” for Unreal Engine list for the Hololens 2. They are described as follows,
Spectator screen support for streaming: This feature is not supported in Unreal 4.46+. We are palnning ro use the Spectator View functionality of Hololens to provide the MR experience to the audience who is not wearing the headset. We would like to know if this functionality is available in Unreal Engine 4.26+. If no, then how can we achieve our goal of integrating a Camera for a third-person view in the experience ?
If the feature mentioned in the title is not exactly related to our concerns, I would also like to know what it means, it would be great if you can provide some documentation or a little elaboration on the same.
3rd camera render: This feature is supported in Unreal 4.26+. This is also one of the features which sounds similar to Spectator View but we were not able to find any sort of documentation or elaboration in the documentation. It would be great to understand what this feature is and if it can help us to provide an even better experience to our non-headset audience.
As the third-person view of the MR experience is very essential to our project, I'm really looking forward to a resolution of my queries.
Thanks.
