This is a great resource to get nice looking maps with OSM data quickly. Thanks.

Since TileMill, etc. seem to be moving in the direction of CartoCSS, what would it take to move these XML files to CartoCSS?

We'd be willing to chip in as needed.

Thanks.

Thanks! We're glad that it helped.

Basically, transforming to CartoCSS will require a complete re-write. We've started on this effort in a different repository, but it's still very much a work-in-progress and we're working on improvements to osm2pgsql to try to get to a database schema which is easier to understand and allows us to share styles between our different data sources. At the moment, I'm not sure there's anything queued up to work on with the mq-carto-style repo, but any help would be greatly appreciated on the osm2pgsql issues. Otherwise, hang around a while and we'll get back to work on the CartoCSS style soon 😄
