There are no files listed on the GNU/Linux Generic downloads page, on either mirror (https://faculty.math.illinois.edu/Macaulay2/Downloads/GNU-Linux/Generic/index.html or http://www2.macaulay2.com/Macaulay2/Downloads/GNU-Linux/Generic/index.html).

Thank you. Yes, I gave up on generic binary distributions when it became impossible to link the Macaulay2 binary statically. Probably we should just get rid of the page. Or try again to link statically.

(Linking statically means the program would not depend on finding particular versions of dynamic shareable libraries on your machine.)
