What I mostly miss is a newsletter subscription.
When someone subscribes with an email and selects which category want to follow. When somebody else posts a new video, he will get an email.

This already exists 👼
Once video upload and conversion is done, if video is public and active, an email is send to channel subscribers

Will check the full process asap to make sure it works properly 😉

Does that mean people need to be registered or just subscribed? I hope it is for subscribed also because many don't want to register. Some form in the main site with a subscription window, where everyone can put email and select a categories.

Currently it's only for registered users
I'll note this as new feature request, but this also require some solid captcha to prevent spam from bots and maybe some kind of email verifications to prevent sender email to be flagged as spam 😄
