This seems to happen on all three UI styles, but it's the most obvious on the "corpo" theme due to it keeping tally of the amount of previously-generated attempts of the most recent message.
My internet isn't very stable, so I can end up losing my connection in the middle of when it's retrying a chunk. When it does this, the previously-generated attempts on the most recent message disappear (in fact this is what happened just a couple of hours ago which is what spurred me on).
...or at least, they kind of disappear since they can be "retrieved" if you use the raw editor, but this itself seems like bug #41 so I've similarly made a video using a live Linux session (though I've used Xubuntu instead of Linux Mint):
