I have been running homebridge for about a year and have have great success with it, thank you for all the work you do! I am attempting to perform the simple action of having my ceiling fan turn on (lutron switch) when the furnace starts heating/cooling the house. I have tried a number of different methods to do this with Homekit as well as IfTTT. I am trying to figure out if this is a 'working as designed' situation with Homekit or if there is something that can be added to the Homebridge to make this happen.
The thermostat temperature and mode is properly displaying and being controlled by the Homekit and Homebridge setup.
The thermostat shows properly when it is heating or cooling inside Homekit by changing colour.
The thermostat is not an available accessory when creating an automation with a trigger of 'An Accessory is Controlled'. Is this working as designed and thermostats aren't listed as accessories in Homekit or is this a problem with the Hombridge implementation?
The thermostat fan is available as its own accessory in Homekit and can be controlled to start the furnace fan.
The thermostat fan can be used as a trigger to control other devices when creating an automation.
The thermostat fan does NOT show as being turned on when the furnace is running and heating or cooling the house. Is this working as designed or is this a problem with the Homebridge implementation?
Thanks for your help!
Ryan.
