First, sorry if has been asked before. I searched but haven't found anything.

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I'm a Debian user. My movie and series collection are on a NAS, shared using smb. While Kodi can successfully access the files in there, MediaElch doesn't even let me try, wanting only local files or folders. Unless I mount the smb share on fstab and i'm not sure that it would work, and I don't know how to set that up.

Describe the solution you'd like
A way to let the user enter share URLs as directories source for medias, like smb://<ip_addr>/<share>.

Describe alternatives you've considered
The only one I got is to manage the metadata with Kodi. It does it successfully, but there's no way to edit the library one at a time, only giving the option to export the entire library every time. When the drive is almost full and that it goes on the network, it can take a really long time.

Additional context
uPnP support might be a good idea too, in the same fashion.

Thanks for creating this feature request! Please note #1710

While I think that this would be a great addition, I'm not familiar with network stores at all. If there is anyone willing to invest time, I'll gladly accept pull requests. 😄
