Project Road Map and Scope

The following are, what I think, should be the scope of the geotiff project.

Core Features

• read tiff files (including BigTiff)
• write tiff files (including BigTiff)
• convert between coordinate systems
• cut a section (bounding box) of the tiff file
• convert the data to numpy arrays

Additional features

• Full test coverage
• Typing with lint checking using mypy
• Documentation: doc blocs and readthedocs

I think the UI needs redesigning. This should be for version 0.2.0.

I think it would be good to base it on an existing geospatial package such as geojson
