Hi,
I play a lot in IVA view, and some months ago, I did some tests on which was the best AA to use when in IVA, it turned out to be, by far, the stock AA, which offers smooth edges, without degrading texts visibility, or creating artefacts.
I did the tests again a week ago, and this still applies today.
Below are the comparison screenshots, the differences might not seem obvious at first glances, but believe me, if you try ingame, it becomes obvious, especially with large cockpits, with lots of buttons, or where the camera sits a bit far from all the props.
(You can open all the images in your browser in full view, in quickly switch between them to compare)
TUFX FAA, hm...
TUFX subpixel, ok-ish but small lines aren't rendered perfectly, text readability degraded
TUFX temporal : causes flickering, affects lighting and readability, small lines disappearing
Stock AA at 8x
By far the best, smooth edges, best result for texts, no artefacts.
So at the time, I used to enable stock AA whenever I was in IVA view, and disable it if I was in external view, pretty painful but heh ^^
So I'd wish there was a workaround either to be able to re enable stock AA in IVA view, or maybe find a new AA method for IVA ?
Thanks !
