<ul>
<li>Open folder in VsCode</li>
<li>click on terminal and choose New terminal</li>
<p>type (git innit) in the terminal, this stands for git initialize, you will see a .git folder that shows up in the workspace, you will also notice your index.html file turns green with a capital U beside it, this U stands for untracked file,
<li>You can type git status in the terminal window to check the status of our progress</li>
<li>type git status > this checks the status of our files that we want to send to git<p>You will notice that capital A now appears beside our main file, type git status to check the progress of our procees of send our code to git, this A stands for added ,however we have not yet committed to git,</p></li>
<li> Use git commit -m "(type your message here)" to commit your code to git<p>You will now notice the file color has changed back to its normal color and it has no letter beside it, that means my local repository in git is up to date with current changes in my file</p></li>
<li>Making more changes, the color of our file changes to amber with an M beside it, checking status(git status) and terminal returns Changes not staged for commit, go ahead and check status (git status) </li>
</p>
<p>This is the second paragraph that I am adding after pushing my repository to github</p>
