How to handle missing, empty, or default strings in each part of JSON template.
Factors

  • The default template will value both keys and value pairs to show users what information to put where and in what format
  • What happens if different parts of JSON template are left out entirely. Can the plot still work?
  • Are there any mandatary parts of the JSON template?
  • What strings are default placeholders that tell the plotting code to do nothing? What happens if they aren't there?
  • How do the end-user developers know what options are appropriate besides the default value in the template if options are two strings?
