If, for some reason $\mathbf{a}' \mathbf{x} \succ 0$ or $\mathbf{x}' \mathbf{Q} \mathbf{x} \succ 0$, we could just add them to the objective function without taking the square.

If, for some reason$\mathbf{a}' \mathbf{x} \succ 0$ or $\mathbf{x}' \mathbf{Q} \mathbf{x} \succ 0$ , we could just add them to the objective function without taking the square.
