the current camera turn works as follow

D or Q turn the boat right or left
the turn speed is based on the boat's speed. The faster the boat the stronger the turn angle

it could use a mix of angle spin and camera shenanigans (SRB2Kart-esque drifting) and maybe have a very light mini-turbo system to make the turns of the boat cooler
