New ways for checking in/out:

  1. Using settings tile. This means that you can quickly jump to check-in/out through swiping down the status bar from any app. If you do this from the lock screen, you don't even need to unlock your screen. Good for you if you are from the pin/face unlock club.
See https://android.gadgethacks.com/how-to/add-your-own-quick-settings-tiles-android-nougat-0173307/ for how to add settings tile to the status bar. Recommend to put our tile on the top row for optimal "quick" check-in/out experience
  2. Using a widget on the home screen. Good for people with too many apps on their home screen.

Both new ways of checking save at least 1 tap for you as compared to opening the app and check-in/out from there. Not to mention saving you the time for fiddling and looking for the app among the herds.

Offline check out:
We generate a check-in/out confirmation screen locally in the event of no internet access, so people with no mobile data can still visit as they like. Without having to touch the pen and registration book that probably has never been cleaned. With that said, a local record of the visit is created.
I believe this will not be a major concerns ince the real purpose of the SafeEntry data is to help you to recall your travel history. (https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/experts-warn-of-hidden-reservoirs-of-infections)
