Currently, there is no way of backing up the local database. Even with a connected API, not all data is neccessarily safe.

Backing up to a USB thumb drive would probably be the best, maybe also as some sort of export.
Additionally, a backup to Google Drive could also be a good idea, depending on the complexity of implementation.
