Here the ‘steady-state’ LAI means the LAI that the canopy can eventually reach when the environments are held constant for a long time.

The equation to calculate steady-state LAI is shown in equation 5.

(Eqn 5) $L_s= min\left[ ⁡\mu + (1/k) W_0 [–k \mu e^{–k \mu}] ,LAI_{max}\right]$
