"Run at boot" apps don't run at boot #3956
Comments
This doesn't work differently on GrapheneOS. You're probably testing on an old Android release and the app hasn't properly ported to newer Android versions. |
Which stock OS are you comparing it against? |
Traccar Client launches at boot fine on at least stock Pixel 6a, 3a, Moto X4, as well as the LineageOS ports for 3a, 3a XL, X4. It has been years since I've seen any Android phone that it doesn't work on, aside from GrapheneOS. |
GrapheneOS doesn't do anything special which would result in it not running at boot. There are restrictions in Android 14 which require them to do things a particular way though. |
Nevertheless, this is only broken in GrapheneOS... |
No, these apps work fine in GrapheneOS. You should try reinstalling the app. |
I just did a fresh install on my new phone and it does indeed seem to work. Strange. |
This continues to be a problem. While the reinstall fixed it, it seems something (my guess, OS update?) is later breaking it. |
Unable to replicate that. Restricted battery mode isn't enabled for them? Check the standby bucket they are put into in developer options which can be overridden with the unrestricted mode. |

This app starts at boot (after unlock) fine on stock Android, but never on GrapheneOS unless it is launched manually from the app drawer.
It should probably add Direct Boot mode (traccar/traccar-client-android#463), but in the meantime, it would be nice if the standard at-unlock launch worked.
(It also is paused when I switch users. That is easily mitigated by installing it for both users, but it might be nice to have some real fix for it as well.)
