The Auction Winner (Shmaya Krinsky) for the NYG helmet auction hosted by Million Meals Project on production won the auction with a $100 high bid.

When Shmaya clicks "Claim Reward" from the Auction page, she proceeds to the Checkout page with the Claim Reward coupon equal to the amount of her high bid applied to her cart.

However, when she attempts to proceed with checkout, she sees an error:

"gb_reward_08c308aa63070de5c0377eeada27ac0743eda057" was removed from the cart. Sorry, it seems the coupon "gb_reward_08c308aa63070de5c0377eeada27ac0743eda057" is not yours - it has now been removed from your order.

Seth is going to reach out to Shmaya to get her permission for me to attempt checkout on her behalf using the "Switch To" feature with her saved shipping address and CC info, see Discourse thread.

If it works, that would solve Shmaya’s immediate problem and let us know the underlying issue is specific to her device. If it doesn’t work, I'll have a screenshot of the error, and we might have something in the logs, which would be helpful for debugging.

I'd love to know in the meantime if you:

  • Notice anything awry in the WP Admin with this Auction, Shmaya's account, her high bid, or the Reward product that would explain why Shmaya is having this issue
  • If you can even think of a reason why a User who is the auction winner and is able to proceed to Checkout with the Claim Reward coupon applied to their Cart would then see a "coupon is not yours" error

Update:

I attempted to checkout impersonating Shmaya and saw the same error, but the logs point us right to the problem -- it's the Warning: vip-db-query-error: Database query failed - The MySQL server is running with the --read-only option error we flagged for WPVIP back in February. -_-

Hit me up when you get out of your content team meeting and let's brainstorm on some ways we could potentially work around this issue so Shmaya can pay MMP the $20 she owes for shipping on her NYG helmet. I'll also coordinate with Jasper on a follow-up with WPVIP.
