The documentation doesn't mention that the libpq-dev package (for Ubuntu... don't know if this matches packages on other distros) is required to obtain the libpq-fe.h header.
After libpq-dev is installed, ri-doc installation outputs this error: invalid options: -f fivefish (invalid options are ignored)

This plugin was developed primarily for use on Heroku, in concert with our heroku_postgres_monitor agent. I think Heroku uses Ubuntu or Debian behind the scenes so it's definitely possible, but not something we're likely to support without a PR from someone, maybe you?
I only opened this issue so that the dependency could get documented in the Requirements section. I didn't expect a native extension (which I now see is getting pulled in by the pg gem), and maybe that's silly of me.
