Frustration Over Contribution Errors and Lack of Points #877
-
I have been working continuously for the past 5-6 days, contributing to the project late into the night. However, after each contribution, I either encounter an error or my contributions are being canceled. As a result, I currently have zero points, despite the many contributions I’ve made. I'm unsure about what to do or how to proceed, and I feel like I'm making mistakes along the way. I was very excited to participate, but now I'm feeling demotivated and hesitant to continue. |

I'm really sorry you're feeling this way, but I want to reassure you that your efforts haven't gone unnoticed. I reviewed your profile, and I can see you’ve created 20 issues in 15 repositories and made 23 pull requests (PRs) in 10 repositories. That shows a lot of hard work and dedication! However, I’ve noticed that the main issue lies not in the effort you're putting in, but rather in following the correct process. Let me explain some areas where things could be improved: Let's talk about your PRs in different projects:1. ANSHIKA-26/WordWise:
Additionally, the PAs (Project Admins) and mentors asked for issue numbers, merge conflict resolutions, and proof of work (like screenshots), but there were no responses. 2. swaraj-das/Collect-your-GamingTools:
3. mdazfar2/Ezyshop:
Other Repositories (BuddyTrail, Gym_Website, Uttarakhand-Culture-NewUI, etc.):
Tips:
I know it can be demotivating when things don't go as planned, but this is part of the learning process in open source. Your work is valuable, and with a few tweaks to how you approach contributions, you’ll be back on track. Open source is about collaboration and communication, and following these steps will help your contributions get noticed and merged. I’m really looking forward to seeing more of your great work! Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need any help or guidance. Keep up the good work, and don't lose heart! |
