About the Alpha Version

The alpha version is for people who only want to play variants on the predefined variants list. The alpha release does not require the user to edit code. Instead, the user can use a console as an interface to load custom variants. The alpha version also can change settings like toggling time travel animations. However, it can't load custom variants that you want to test out. For that please look at the visual studio version of the data interface.

Installation

To install the alpha version of the data interface, go here and click on the release version you want to download. Downloading the latest release is recommended. After clicking on the version you want to download click on the alpha version zip file to download it. Keep in mind that this is different from the standalone version. After successfully downloading the zip file, extract the contents of the file into a folder somewhere. It can be anywhere, buts it's recommended that it's in a location that is easily accessible. Once you have extracted the contents of the .zip file, run the .bat file and it should install and run the data interface. Because the alpha version does not have parts of the runtime already in the folder like the standalone version it is recommended that users of the alpha version always run the data interface using the .bat file because it checks for any files that are missing and will automatically download any missing files. However, this means that the bat file will only work with an internet connection. If you do not have an internet connection, you can run the data interface using the .exe file. Please keep in mind that the .exe file does not check for missing files and will fail if there are missing files.
