Describe the bug
As title, Elden Ring crashes on launch with gamemode 1.8.2.

To Reproduce
Steps used to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Set Elden Ring with Feral GameMode enabled in Lutris
  2. Run game from Lutris menu or link
  3. Wait few seconds for loading game, black screen appears, then return to desktop

Expected behavior
After the black screen should appear the game main menu.

System Info

  • CPU: Intel Core i7 13700K
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti
  • OS: Arch Linux 6.10.10-arch1-1 (64-bit)
  • NVIDIA Driver: 560.35.03
  • GameMode Version: gamemode-1.8.2-1
  • Elden Ring Version: 1.13.2

Additional context

Troubleshooting attempts:

  • Disable Feral GameMode in Lutris: works
  • Downgrade to gamemode 1.8.1 (gamemode-1.8.1-2 package in Arch): works
  • Other games with gamemode 1.8.2 installed and Feral GameMode enabled: works
  • Change Elden Ring runner in Lutris (Proton, GE-Proton, Wine-ge and Wine): not works
  • Disable Esync, Fsync and graphics options (DXVK, VKD3D): not works

Attached the log of Lutris debugger with GE-Proton as runner:

I can confirm I am seeing this as well, 13900K + RTX 4090 on Arch, using Steam instead of Lutris.

The same happens when trying to run Divinity: Original Sin II - Definitive Edition on Intel 13700K + Radeon RX 6600 XT (RADV driver) + Arch Linux.

Similar issue here on Baldur's Gate 3 with a crash at launch.

Behaviour confirmed.
I want just add if you remove gamemoderun from commandline and follow this steps, you can achieve the same result.

  1. remove gamemode from steam command line
  2. open terminal and run gamemoded -r
  3. run Elden Ring and play.
  4. exit form the game at the end
  5. go to terminal end stop gamemode by pressing CTRL+C

Tested on Manjaro KDE + nvidia rtx 4070ti, gamemode v1.8.2
