What helps a website gain more traffic is through consistently creating new content on a monthly, weekly, or even a daily basis. One of the ways to generate new content is implementing a blogging platform on our site to help guide new members the complex world of web development and software engineering.
Implementing the blogging platform should be a smooth and easy process. We can take advantage of a popular platform like Medium, which has a big userbase and interacts with their API to display the posts on our site. It will not only expose our content on our site but to the massive audience that medium has to offer.
The design should mimic Medium's layout but we could include different content in the sidebars to help provide call to actions and guide the member to more educational materials.
The type of content we would create would range from quick tutorials involving the challenges from FreeCodeCamp, spotlight on different employers in the city of Columbus, guest posts from recruiters and seasoned devs offering advice, and finally, testimonials of recent developers who used FreeCodeCamp to get their first job or gig.
