That said, I don't really like the game either. The studio definitely has more potential though. |
Patching with the VRGIN package does indeed get NEO working in VR. However, it seems to lack the fixes that made the head/eye tracking follow the user's head position (instead of the "centered" position) in the original Studio. Also there's something going on that's making things look washed out/unsaturated/low contrast in VR NEO (but not in non-vr), but I can't seem to track down exactly where the problem is. |
The image effects, I assume. Try turning them off. |
Thanks, I hadn't though about that. After playing around a bit, turns out that the problem is that effects aren't being applied. Hitting ctrl-f5 did nothing, nor did changing it in the ini file. To check, I went into the classic studio. Turning off effects made it look identical to the NEO studio. Also, it might be worth mentioning that, just like with the vanilla game, the game's built-in effects don't work in VR. edit: might also have something to do with the 4k/graphics patch not working with NEO, or at least not working in VR. edit2: downloaded an updated version of the patch, have more details. While NEO is loading, I get a weird strobing double-image of the loading screen. One image is fixed, does not strobe, and does not have any effects applied to it. The second image follows my gaze, strobes intermittently, and does have effects applied to it. When it finishes loading, however, no effects are applied to the UI or any models I load. If I go into the settings for the graphics patch, I can add ridiculous bloom/saturation/etc, but those effects only apply to the weird strobing load screen, and never affect the models themselves. edit3: Setting ignoremask to 1 in the vrcontext results in not being able to see anything except the effects-applied, strobing load screen. |

Hi Eusth, I know Studio NEO is low down on your priorities, but it would make a lot of people very happy if you could add VR support... Please! |
Any updates on the washed out/unsaturated/low contrast problem? Alternatively, is there a way to adjust whatever the settings are that are loaded when pressing CTRL+F5? |
