18-012-MC Add Forward Passage of Lines as a Tactical Mission Task

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM: Despite being referenced in multiple US Marine Corps and US Army doctrinal publications, there is currently no standardized way to depict the mission task of forward passage of lines, which “ Occurs when a unit passes through another unit’s positions while moving toward the enemy.” (MCWP 3-01 and ADRP 1-02)

PROPOSED SOLUTION: Propose the addition of a Forward Passage of Lines symbol as a mission task in the control measures appendix of MIL-STD-2525D.
