Reduce git size

.git is ~75 mb which leads to slow fresh clones. This is due to repo originally coming from fork of ECCO-ACCESS repo which contains both unrelated code and tracking of large unneeded files.

Options:

• crop commit history to point where unrelated code is no longer tracked
• remove large files from git history
