I am running it under Windows 7 SP1 (x64) and it is hard to read. I am attaching a screenshot of the issue.

I've never seen that issue before while testing on Windows XP and 8.1. Some people have suggested that I stop using Google's Roboto font. I can try using another font sometime and see it that fixes it. Can you tell me the exact version of Windows 7 you use? Is it a special embedded or live version?

Did you try the Classic Theme under Windows 7? I am just using Windows 7 SP1 (Home).
