When you preview a song in the app, the volume for the app is dramatically reduced, going from 100 to usually around 20. No other apps have their volume affected by this bug but it's a little annoying having to go into my volume mixer and raise the volume back to normal every time I want to test a song.

That's a known issue. It should work better if you disable [EXP] In-Game volume for now.
This feature is mostly used to balance the audio volume between songs as it would sound in game.
